Welcome to Android Central! The external SD card might be corrupt--unmount it (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and insert it into your computer. Then run chkdsk: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html

If it is corrupt, you could try to fix it, or just use a new SD card. Be aware that Samsung devices are kind of notorious on these forums for having general issues with SD cards, so the problem could happen again.

Older Samsung devices (older than the S5) had a little deviation from the design spec for SD cards, so they sometimes got corrupted. SanDisk designed around this deviation, so newer SanDisk cards don't have the problem. (And SanDisk is pretty nice to deal with - I wouldn't be surprised if they replace older cards that are having the problem.)
