I need to refer to 2 large pdf travel maps for work (zones, fares, rail links) in order to make very quick decisions.
These visual guides are not available on the relevant apps.

Any way that I can create a widget or orher shortcut?
Any app that will open these two straight away, or just one?

I can open with Polaris Office, which doesn't scroll well (movement too fast),
    and Kindle which is better.

    - Also on my Samsung Note 3, all files in the Downloads app have recently disappeared, but I can still access them through My Files - Documents, which is annoying. -

Am I missing something glaring again?
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! Try File Shortcut.

Regarding your Downloads folder, go to the App Manager, and make sure Download Manager is not disabled. Also make sure that the Downloads app isn't set to show downloaded files from the last month only (this may be on option on some devices).
