Why aren't any of the buttons working my on Galaxy SIII?

[AC Question]

Galaxy SIII phone "locked up" . . . no buttons work.

Was attempting to play a casino game when touch screen stopped responding. Tried to reset to home screen. None of the buttons are working. Screen shows game about 30 seconds, then goes black when on/off button pushed. Phone rings when someone calls my number but I can't answer since touch screen is locked up. HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! Have you been able to reboot? Press and hold the Power button until you get the Power Off menu (after a second) or until the device is forced to power down (after 10 seconds or so). If that doesn't work, just pull the battery and wait 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Does the phone boot normally? If this happens again while playing the game, then something about the game is probably making the system unstable.
