Why does my 3g on my phone keep on reaapearing and dissapearing?

I have the samsung galaxy rush for boost mobile and this morning my 3g just didnt work. the 3g symbol was gone. but the strange thing is i can still receive messages. and it worked a little bit this morning. can anyone help me???
