Why wouldn't my 5S mini not charge after a dip in the bath?

y wouldn't my 5S mini not charge after a dip in the bath?

just got s5mini. (great phone). anyway crapped my pants cus it wouldnt charge after i tried the waterproof feature in the bath. i had a quick look on the forums and no1 said that it wont charge if the usb port is wet... dried it out with a bit of toilet paper..(all i got) and now it works. just wonderd if anyone else had this problem and if they did...or do. try drying the charging port before u get too worried!! as long as the case was fitted tight at the time of the incident and the battery is not water marked (red dot) or actual phone is the same, u should b ok i guess?

My word, you've got some courage dunking a new £400 device in water to see whether the waterproofing works okay.
