Does backlight leak get worse?

so my phone here have a little backlight leak.. it's not that noticable until you bring the brightness to the fullest level.. i'm just wondring if it grows or get worse..

An undamaged LCD panel (which is what blocks the light from the LED panel behind it - the LCD doesn't generate light, it's dynamically transparent, it changes the amount and color of the light from behind it that gets to your eyes) shouldn't "wear out", but subjecting it to freezing or very hot temperatures could damage it enough to cause more than normal leakage.
