Can I keep my unlimited data plan if I am changing from a 3G Droid X to a 4G Samsung Galaxy S5?

I have considered buying a new Samsung Galaxy S5 on ebay for full price but don't understand how to get a new SIM card from Verizon which will allow me to keep my unlimited data plan which I now have with my Droid X (which only has 3G). I have spoken to many Verizon reps, in store, via chat and on the phone--I get different answers from each person--someone today even said that with a full price new phone, I will not be able to keep my unlimited data plan. Thank you.
