It seems to have frozen. When I switch it off it comes back on again within seconds and freezes with the word SAMSUNG on the screen

1) Minor point. An iPad is an Apple device. Yours is a Samsung tablet 2 10.1.

2) There are a few possible reasons - bad power switch, corrupted ROM, bad SD card, hardware problem. You'll have to bring it in to get the problem diagnosed. It could be as simple a fix as reflashing, it could be as bad as a bad motherboard, so there's no sense in telling you "about" how bad it is.
