Where are the photos coming from in the photo app?

New tablet owner - Where are the photos coming from in the photo app

I just set up my new Samsung Tab and it started downloading photos into the photo app. There are photos from 2011 forward along with Internet Explorer cached icons and what not. Where are these photos downloading from??? I checked my drop box and they are not coming from there. I gave it my gmail account but as far as I know I don't store anything in the cloud. It's almost like they came from my PC. Anyone know how that photo app is populated ?

Samsung syncs photos form Picasa, so goto your Gmail account and unchecked Picasa sync.
Then goto gallery app settings and unchecked the online sync features.
Lastly clear data of your gallery app in settings>apps>gallery
