I bought the RAZR M about a year and a half ago. I've never had a problem, up until now.
About a week ago, my phone was at about 60% charge. I was reading a text, when my screen went black. I couldn't get the phone to power back on.
I plugged it in, waited a few minutes, then powered it on again. After about two minutes, the same thing happened. I've now let it charge fully, but the same thing keeps happening.
Anyone else had this issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Does the battery actually charge up to 100%? I wonder if the battery is failing. Unfortunately, this isn't an easy thing to test, since it's not intended to be user-removable. You may have to bring it to a repair shop, unless you're pretty handy and want to open the phone up by yourself. There are probably plenty of YouTube videos that detail how to replace a battery.

It does charge fully, but every once in a while, the charge will jump around from say 60, then immediately to 100.

Look at the battery graph (Settings/General/Battery - tap the graph at the top). When the phone shut off, was there a sudden drop to zero or almost zero on the battery, then it came back? If so, the battery is defective. (If you want to get into it, Roots of the Lithium Battery Problem: Berkeley Lab Researchers Find Dendrites Start Below the Surface explains why and how it happens. If the dendrite is small enough, the current flowing through it destroys the dendrite, but not before lowering the battery voltage enough to cause the phone to shut off or restart. The industry is working on it, but I don't see us buying dendrite-free lithium batteries for at least a decade.)

I never can do anything on the phone before it shuts off.

After it shuts off, and you get it back on again. Or doesn't it ever stay on for even 2 minutes?
