Is there anyway I can fix my broken motherboard or do I have to replace it?

Please help, HTC Desire 500 broken motherboard.

I was replacing the screen of a HTC Desire 500, I didn't notice one of the ribbon cables and pulled it out without flipping up the release mechanism. End result, one of the golden pins on the motherboard is missing. This is for the digitizer, the LCD works fine, digitizer responds the odd time but not in any way accurately. Is there any way I can fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You could buy a connector, break the plastic to get one of the long pins free (it looks like it's a long pin that's missing) and try to reconstruct the connector (and, of course, solder the motherboard side of the pin to the motherboard).

Or you could unsolder the connector and replace it with a new one.

Or you could replace the motherboard.

It depends on your level of expertise in soldering in very tiny places to very tiny copper lands. When I had my cellphone stores, I probably would have done it the first way - steal a pin from a really broken phone that uses the same connector. Now my eyes and hands aren't good enough to even solder in a connector, so I'd replace the motherboard. Or, considering the age and value of the phone, I'd probably replace it.
