Why is it after a reset of my HTC One I have lost the last three months of contacts?

After a reset of my HTC One I have lost the last three months of contacts.

Due to audio problems Verizon did a reset on my HTC One. I stressed to Verizon prior to the reset I was concerned about losing contacts and they assured me that I would not lose any. The backup contacts are currently on Verizon Cloud. Due to work....I REALLY need to find a way to get the contacts back. I have all my other contacts but again lost the last three months. Any ideas how to get them back? Return my phone to previous state? Could they be in different location?? I'm a bit desperate......

Sorry about the issue, when you saved those contacts, did you save them into your Gmail?
If so, just sync your Gmail contacts on the phone and you got them.

If you entered them as anything other than Google contacts (Phone or Device), they're gone. A factory reset removes anything you've done since the phone came out of the box. Get ready to do a lot of typing. (Which is why allcontactsshould be entered as Google contacts.)
