Who has experience with Dorimanx kernels?

I've recently installed CloudyG3 on my LG G2 and it's been pretty great! I also did lots of research on it and saw that lots of people were using Dorimanx as a kernel and were getting ridiculous battery life. Now, does that come standard with the installation of the kernel, or does the kernel allow you to tweak stuff to that point of awesome performance?
