My S3 is VERY slow and my Android System is using 64% of my CPU. Why?

My battery usage has doubled in the past few days. Looking at my battery usage it's showing that Android system is using 63% of my cpu and my wireless communication is running a lot. I finally had to shut it off. I've tried the old reboot a few times but that only works temporarily.

If not too much of a hassle, and your personal data is backed up, it may be worth considering a factory reset.

Battery usage doesn't show CPU usage, it shows percentage of battery usage. IOW, 63% of whatever amount of battery was being used was being used by the Android system. That could be 63% of 0.01% of the battery capacity or 63% of 90% of the battery capacity. It's percentage, not amount. Andropid and the screen will usually account for most of the battery usage - that's normal. 63% is more than just a bit high, though, unless the amount of battery use is very low. Is it taking days before you have to recharge the battery?

As far as Android and wireless data going up, a lot of your apps could be updating, you could be doing a lot online, etc.
