Why am I getting the error message unfortunetly message has stopped when I send text messages?

Then my text closes before I am finished. at times I have to open it 4 or 5 times to finish conversation.

Welcome to the forums. Try clearing the cache for the messaging app. Go to Settings>Apps>swipe over to all apps>scroll down to your messaging app>click on it> click clear cache.
