If the router has an antenna, see if you can find one for that connector (there are a few different ones used - look for antennas for that brand router to see what's there) with higher gain - 9db or 12db. Or you could get a router that can act as a repeater (or install DD-WRT in any compatible router - see their site) and place it between the main house and the guest house, so it sees a good signal from both the main router and your phone.

Or you can run cable (an eye hook under the eave of the main house and one under the eave of the guest house - run steel aircraft cable [you can get it at any good hardware store - 1/4" should be strong enough for a couple of hundred foot run] with thimbles, then hang an Ethernet cable from that with wire ties. Plug that into one of the LAN ports at the main house. Temporarily connect another router's LAN port to a computer, connect to it, change its address to something outside the DHCP range of the router in the main house, and turn off its DHCP server, change its name [SSID] to something different than the one in the main house and put it on a channel at least 3 away from the one the router in the main house is on. Then disconnect the computer and connect the guest-house end of the Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports of the router (running in the guest house) and you'll have a very strong signal - your phone will be connecting to a router that's right near it. (Lots of work to set up, but really the proper way to do it, and if you're comfortable with the router's interface, everything but stringing the cables should take less than 5 minutes.)
