How can I get open my cell phone photos on my HP computer?

I did download the pictures from my android phone to my computer, but all pictures taken with my cell phone can not be opened on my computer.

Welcome to Android Central! Which device do you have? How did you download the photos?

Plug it into your computer using the supplied USB cable. Open Windows Explorer, and see if the phone is listed on the left. Select it, and navigate to the folder called /DCIM/Camera. Select the photos you want to copy over to the computer, and drag and drop them to the computer's hard drive. Now see if you can open the photos.
