Since the android update (now ver 4.4.2) my S4 has been randomly crashing and rebooting. I've tried a lot of things including factory reset, but still occurs.

    Model number SCH-I545
    Build number KOT49H.I545VRUFNG6

Advice (other than get an IPhone) welcome.

Welcome to Android Central! If you have an SD card inserted, try unmounting it (in Settings>Storage), removing it, and rebooting. A corrupt card can cause various issues.

If that doesn't help, then perhaps an app you installed is causing the instability. A factory reset wouldn't necessarily rule this out, because the app may have been automatically reinstalled upon starting the phone back up again. Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily prevents all 3rd party apps from starting. Then open apps slowly, one by one, and see if or when a crash occurs.
