Why isn't my Galaxy GT-n8013 automatically updating time and date?

galaxy gt-n8013 won't automatically update time and date. must enter it each log on

Why won't it keep correct time?

It's not connected to a cell tower, so it's about as accurate as a digital watch - which can need resetting every few days if it's not calibrated accurately.
