AC Question

I don't know if this an Android/Nexus 7 problem, a Windows 7 problem or a Seagate Wireless Plus hard drive problem! I renamed a file on my PC and used a USB connection to transfer the file to my Seagate Wireless drive. When I use the WiFi connection in the Seagate to connect to the Nexus 7, it shows a different format of the file name. How do I get the Nexus 7 (using the Seagate Media app) to show the correct file name?

Windows, by default, doesn't show known extensions with the name. Android does. So if you name a file xxx.txt, it shows as xxx on Windows (unless you changed "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options, but it shows as xxx.txt in Android.

Thanks for a response. I just don't know where to turn for help on this!

The problem isn't the file extension, it's the file name itself. I renamed a video file in Windws 7, including going in to Properties, Details and changing it there. Yet, when I search for the file in the Index on the Seagate Wireless Plus HD, it still shows the file name that was in Properties, Details before I changed it. I'm beginning to suspect it might be a Seagate HD or software issue, not N7 issue at all. It just seems strange that even though the file name is different in the Seagate Index, the N7 still finds and plays the correct file. The extension is .MP4, that hasn't changed.
