Welcome to Android Central! In terms of usability, the Nexus 5 is likely the winner, since there is no bloatware or manufacturer skin. The phone is fast and smooth, and gets system updates from Google first. The battery is the weak spot--I routinely get around 3 hours of total screen-on time per charge. But it doesn't bother me, since I"m not a heavy user, and I put it on a wireless charger when I'm not using it.

Since neither one has a user-removable battery, they're both not on my list of phones to consider. That and an external SD card are mandatory for me.
