My Tab 7 is frozen...how do I get it to respond?

I have a Tab 7 tablet, 3 years old, model CE0168. My grandson was playing a game on it and now it is locked up...won't turn off, no sound, won't return to home screen, screen hasn't shut off for over an hour. I don't know if he pushed something or if it was the game itself. I can't get anywhere on the Samsung website...have lost contact with 4 agents and the last one told me how to find the model number using the tablet itself, which I can't do because the thing isn't responding. Help!

Try holding the power button down - it may take 30 seconds or so - but that's the equivalent of pulling the battery. If that still doesn't do it, it's going to have to be opened (I don't suggest doing it yourself) and the battery is going to have to be disconnected for a moment. Then the diagnosing can begin.
