How do I enable the unlock effect?

cant enable unlock effect

I've alreafy set my screen lock to "swipe" but i still cannot enable or choose my unlock effect. Its there but i cant select it help plsss thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, I'm not entirely clear on the issue. You say that you've set it to Swipe to Unlock, but you're also saying you can't choose it. Do you mean that you've selected Swipe to Unlock, but it keeps reverting to Password or PIN? Or is Swipe to Unlock greyed out, and you're unable to select it at all?

Is your phone encrypted? Encrypted phones (with the exception of the Nexus 6) require you to use PIN or Password. If the phone isn't encrypted, you can try going to Settings>Security​, and tap Clear Credentials.

Answered. Duplicates.
Wallpaper was greying out the Samsung Unlock Effect setting (ripple etc).
