Forgot Android Device Manager lock password

So I recently lost my device, and being careful with data inside it and all, I remotely locked it through ADM.
However, now that I have my device back, I don't remember the password.
I'm close to 15 attempts, if that makes a difference.

Is there a way to access my device without having to factory reset it?

Also, device is 2012 WiFi Nexus 7

Re: Forgot Android Device Manager lock password

Well you could try just to Lock it again. That may work.
I loaned my (then) other phone out to an overseas visitor for a few weeks as a standby, a Galaxy S2. I realised I forgot to wipe it properly (I cleared the cache in recovery, not wiped data). So I remotely wiped it and left a message on the screen for them to call me for the code. On return, it had not been needed. My own pin however would not work. I had used a combination of 2 favourite pins and not noted them at the time. So at my pc I decided to use the Lock function and gave a new pin. It worked, though it took about 20 - 30 minutes to get to the phone on my desk if I remember.

ON EDIT: No that may not be right. I think I only locked it. anyway it worked.
