It's a CDMA phone, but it's listed as a "Global" device. If I root this phone, do I have access to turn on the GSM radio to work with other carriers? Or is it hopeless.

Check this out: http://androidforums.com/threads/th...mda-4lte-and-gsm-hspa-image-intensive.545743/ However, this contradicts GSMArena, which states that it can't use GSM radios. http://m.gsmarena.com/motorola_droid_bionic_xt875-3710.php I would say your chances are low since that thread was from a long time ago and there were probably updates that contained patches for your phone.
