I got the reply on having a 0.5A charger instead of the new one like 1A or 1.5A. How do I know what type I have?

They should have markings by law showing input and output. I need a magnifying glass to read mine.
I have a spare black Samsung charger for my sold Samsung S2. It puts out 0.7A and the embossed stamp is faded. The white chrger outs out 2.0A for my newer Note 3 phone.

Look for the output line and the rating. If the rating is in mA, 1,000 mA = 1A. (The input line is generally somewhere in the range of 90-240 Volts, 50-60Hz, which means it'll work anywhere in the world that there's electricity. The input Amps rating isn't really important, it is what it is. A 60 Watt light bulb draws 0.55A [approximately, at 110 Volts, the North American standard], just for reference.)
