Is there any way to retrieve data from a dead phone with a broken usb port?

fiance had an original droid razr given to him when he lost his phone. He only had the phone about a week (while we were vacationing with family) & broke a pin in the charging port. Lots of photos were taken that we would really like to have. Yet neither of us had the good sense to turn the phone off while it still had battery life. So now we have a dead phone with no way to charge it. Not looking to repair the phone considering he got a new one upon our return but would really like to recover these pictures! Please someone help!!
