How do I see which app is "updating" on every reboot?

Since buying my Nexus 6 I have been encountering a reboot bug. I get the "Android is upgrading - updating app 1 of 1" every time.

This lasts for about 5 minutes and I assume it must be timing out after unsuccessfully updating the app in question.

How do I see which app is causing this? I would uninstall it if I could figure it out. Is there a debug option or log I can check?

I'm sorry I can't answer your question but have you tried a Cache Partition wipe?

Wouldn't that just cause all of the apps to update? I presume the same failure would occur again on the problem app...

I was thinking there may be a system error which would be cleared by wiping the Cache Partition. Doing that would not cause the apps to update again. Since it's a harmless procedure it may be worth trying.

Cache partition wipe did nothing...

Hoping 5.0.1 clears it up...

5.0.1 sideload OTA did NOT fix this. App number 122 was "optimizing" for 5 minutes. Gotta be the same one that continues to "optimize" every time I reboot.

Still wondering where I can see an upgrade log. Can't seem to find anything on Google.

Is it possible that the apps update in alphabetical order?
