With great difficulty I was able to locate SD card under file manager by clicking the flag like mark at the bottom with a star in it.

Next I find under setting for both SD card as well as internal storage, select mark against 'SAFE mode' chosen

By opting to 'Root level access' option that is available in it, can I change the write capabilities for apps?

Or will it result in some other problem?

Last but not the least my phone is S III mini and the CM 11 version installed is 11-20140118-unofficial-golden!

thanks really to everyone in the most helpful community out there (As a person from 'nut and bolt' industry this is something unbelievable!)

My 4GB micro SD is OK. U used it in my older Samsung Galaxy phone without problem. I can access it from within my LG G3 D850 phone, but when connecting the phone to my PC - I can't see the card....

I think my card is OK:

Though by default everything gets saved to internal memory, I am able to move it to SD card using file manager or a PC.

I am specifically trying make SD card default save location for apps, say like camera, recordings, etc.

    Thank you
