Phone Contacts are Deleted while merge with Google. How to restore?

Hi,

I used Merge with Google option and all contacts in phone memory are lost. Also only 25% of the contacts are copied on Google account . 75% of my contacts list are lost. Please suggest how can I recover them?

One thing to add, after I clicked on Merge with Google option, my battery was accidentally removed from phone.
