No sound in tablet

Hi all

I have a secondhand nextbook 8 tablet, and for what I got it for its actually not a bad device... only problem that I have is that the volume suddenly stopped working. If I plug in the headset, I can hear just fine'but nothing comes out of the speakers... I would usually come to the conclusion that the built in speaker has quit on me if not for the notification ringtone coming out of the speaker every now and then... Can any one help me with this? Thanks

Sounds like an intermittent switch on the earphone jack.

Hey thanks for the suggestion! Well I did what I could, clean the connection and all that, but still no sound. But notification sounds come out just fine...

Please don't bump your threads. However, has your tablet come into contact with water, is the tablet on silent? Try a factory reset. Maybe a last resort however maybe a process stuck to do with the speaker, I have heard this issue on Android tablets before where a process is stuck.
