Can I get some help flashing Lollipop hammerhead OTA?

Having issues flashing lollipop hammerhead OTA.

After downloading Android Studio, the OTA packet i also had to download the google usb driver to connect my nexus 5 to my PC (w xp). Everything works fine, abd devices reports the device as it should but as i get my phone into recovery mode it somehow loses connection with the pc, which automatically tries installing the default driver. adb devices doesnt see the nexus either. help please!

Did you download the images from Google directly?

And did you install the proper Google USB Driver http://developer. android. com/sdk/win-usb. html (remove the spaces - the site is having a link fit again)? (If you're running Windows 8.1, also read Windows 8.1 - Install unsigned drivers http://revryl. com/2013/08/06/install-unsigned-drivers/.)
