Is there a solution to the fact that the google calender is syncing events within only one year? I really need it to sync at least two years. Is there something to do?
On the web google calender everything is there, but on the phone he doesn't sync events which are in more than one year.
Any help will be very much appreciated!

Ensure to download "Google Calendar" to your phone. You can use other apps for your Calendar but it helps with the sync when this is downloaded to the phone.

You can repeat an event on the Google Calendar app for many years, but I don't know why it won't sync from your web calendar to the app for more than a year. I haven't tried it.

Maybe if you enter on the app first it will sync properly. Not ideal though.

There have been one or two threads where people are unhappy with the limitations of the new app, not least the lack of a month view.
There may be help on the Google help pages, I can't search at the moment.

I was able to sync from the web calendar by selecting repeat every two weeks on the pc to 2018, and then refresh on the app. I think all the options are there, just not instantly visible.

I don't know if the OP's / US Note 4 comes with S-Planner and the new Google Calendar; or the shots above are for a single 'stock' calendar.

I thought S-Planner was replaced by a stock Calendar app on most US Note 3's.
My EU Note 3 had both, but the stock Calendar app was updated recently to Google Calendar with My Calendar and Samsung calendar integrated.
So @Almeuit was correct.

I'm out.
Either way they both seem to work OK.

Thanks for all the answers.

I'm not referring to a "new" problem; since the beginning the calendar sync to android (at least on my nexus phones) was limited to one year. And it's not about repeating events, it's about a normal workflow with single events where I work both on the computer and on the phone - the events that will sync are only those in the range of one year. Although the google web calender is full with things, from 2016 my phone google calender is empty.
Any other ideas?
thanks.

I hear what you're saying. I haven't tested that. I can't find a reference to this issue. It does seems more data dependent, with complaints on the reviews of version 5.0.1. Have you tried other calendar apps that will all sync with Google.
Sunrise and DigiCal have been recommended often, but it may not be an app issue.
If you don't get results here, you can try again in General Help and How To under Android Central Community, or the Android Apps forum - though it's not busy there.

Most annoying. Planning events (individual as well as some daily repeat events) but still only syncing for the next 12 months. This is a real difficulty when sharing a calendar and depending on accuracy for forward planning.

Just in case you haven't already worked out a solution for this "issue"

At one time I thought I was imagining that events out over a year weren't showing up on my Android phone (since that had never been a problem on my iPhone.) But after I went ahead and agreed to do something on a date that had long been booked otherwise in my calendar, I did a lot of research and found this was "by design." Not sure who exactly thinks this is okay what with most of us using our phones as our primary tool not our desktops anymore.... but I digress.

Anyway, the solution that worked for me was the app CalenGoo because it allows you to set up a DIRECT sync to your GMail account instead of using the Android sync. Now I have ALL my events available on my phone and a better calendar app in general.
