I'm a newb to Android. I have a new 10" tablet w/micro SD slot. I have a couple movies on SD card, but having trouble understanding how to get the movies to play.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to the file the movies are saved in and click on them I believe that will start the movie.

Also, you have to have an app installed that will play that file type. If it's an mp4, that's no problem, but if it's a bunch of vob files you have to convert them to something a phone app will play, like an mp4 file. (Even though a vob file is in mp4 format, the "private data" in vob files cause mp4 player apps to fail, because only DVD players can read that data, so the app thinks the file is corrupt.)

Are your movies on SD card in MP4 or other video types that Android device supports? If not, I'm afraid they cannot be played or watched on any Android device.
