Is there a way to fix an earphone problem I am having on my Htc One M8?

Htc one m8 earphone problem

Hello,

I got my HTC One M8 on the 23rd of September 2014 and everything worked fine.
For Christmas, I got a new pair of earphones, these earphones worked fine with the phone for about a week then they stopped playing in one ear, sound only comes from the earphone with the mic attached.

These earphones work fine with my laptop, ipod, my sisters iphone 5s and my mums lg g3. Some other earphones work with my phone just fine just seems to be these I'm having trouble with.

I have reset my phone to factory setting twice and im still having this issue.

I know you have already tried this, but just wanted to offer: 1st make sure headphones are completely plugged in so that both left and right channels are making contact with the internal workings of the plug. Also, I had a similar problem with a headphone jack with my car sound system. Turned out that all I needed to do was to turn off the boomsound when it was plugged in and all was fine after that. Just my thoughts.

Just tried turning off the boom sound but still leaves me with the same problem.
