I can't delete photos on my S5 that are in the Gallery app. They do not exist in my Google cloud. I use Verizon. They were auto transferred to my phone either from Google or Verizon when i got the new phone but I can't get rid of them. Need some help.

Welcome to Android Central! Are they photos you took at some point, or images from the web or one of your apps? Do you use Verizon Cloud, and if so, have you tried deleting them there?

I have exactly the same issue. I have deleted the images, disabled all Google synch, cleared the images app cache in app manager and then when I restart the phone they come back - Really annoying. Any ideas? Thanks

If they show up after a restart, Media Scanner is finding the files somewhere (it rebuilds its database on every restart). Maybe not where you think they are, but somewhere. Use the search in ES File Explorer to look in the sdcard and in the ExtSdCard (if you have one - it's in /mnt/ExtSdCard). It's pretty fast and it'll find the files for you.
