My Galaxy S4 has been great overall, but the battery life is awful. I've searched around online and found that thousands of people are having issues with the battery life as well but no one seems to have anything involving my issue. I've gone into settings and looked where the majority of my power supply is going to and it says 41% is going to the screen. Now my brightness is set as low as it can go, I have power saving mode on, phone is set to silent and when I turn the phone on to use it I only have it on for a maximum of 50 seconds to 2 minutes. I've turned off all motion settings, closed all possible running apps, turned off location and sync options. The battery drains so quickly I'll give you an example.*

Just*today*I was out at dinner with the family and when we sat down my battery said 67% and I've known my phone has had this battery life issue so I looked at the clock and not 15 minutes later I went from 67% to 25%. 15 Minutes and 42% consumed?*

This issue is very irritating and concerning and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! There are so many possible reasons--we'd need to see more data. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

    1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
    2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
    3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
    4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

How old is the battery? Do you routinely discharge it deeply, to single digit percentage level (i.e., <10%), before charging it back up? That behavior can actually shorten the overall lifespan of the battery, and so you might notice its endurance start to decrease sooner than usual. As a general rule of thumb, try to start charging when the battery hits 30-40%.

How is the cell signal in your area? Lousy cell signal is a battery killer, since the radio has to strain to latch onto signal, and that takes more battery.

And 20 hours of continuous use isn't bad for a cellphone. When you see people getting 2 days on a charge, that usually means 2 8-hour work days.

I got a different charger and that seemed to charge it faster and made it live a bit longer. I've had the phone since mid December and I've been good about charging it back up to 100% when it reaches 20%-30%, though it's been dying quickly ever since I got it which I thought was odd.
I do believe these are the screenshots you've requested. What bothers me is that that the screen brightness is set to the lowest setting but it shows as using nearly half of the power. The last screenshot (with the 18% battery) was taken yesterday when it nearly died in 20 minutes) Thanks again for the help.

It's awake for quite a bit of time towards the end, while the screen isn't on. So something seems to be keeping the phone awake for some reason, which is probably contributing to the drain. Try installing GSam Battery Monitor, let it run for a whole battery cycle, and look at the wakelocks--see if it can tell you what app or service is keeping the phone awake the longest.

Also, it'd still be helpful to show the screen after you tap the Screen category in that list. This will show the total screen-on time. The typical amount will be around 5 hrs or so for an S4, I think.

Try turning NFC off if you never use it. Also, the mobile network signal seems grey for a lot of the time--how is your signal in general? Poor signal chews up battery.

Ok, sorry about the wait, was a bit tied up.
Not too sure if these were the images you requested but I was able to take a few screenshots before the battery got too low.
