How do I change the UI theme of an app?

how to change the UI/ theme of an app?

I want to change the UI of my android puzzle game and it looks to me like the .png files for the UI are located in the themes folder. I was wondering how I swap the .png files to integrate the new UI? Do I just replace them or is there some amount of coding I have to complete? Thanks!
