How do I stop my Note 4 from ringing/vibrating every few minutes?

I don't know what is triggering these notification alerts, no emails or messages are being received, and it goes off, sometimes several times a minute (seems to be random). Highly annoying!

I thought it might be Flipboard which comes with the Note 4, so I tried uninstalling it, but the uninstall does not work (it is still one of the default pages on my home screen), and the notifications are still coming.
