Anything that can be done about my face/ear causing the phone to mute/hold while I'm on the phone?

AC Question

I've found it to be a big problem that when I'm using the phone (As a phone) and I'm listening to it, my ear, or the side of my face is on the screen and it's actually cause the mute, or hold or other touch buttons to be pressed. It's actually quite a big problem I find, but I haven't seen other similar complaints when I searched for this issue...

Hello. You may have a proximity sensor problem, or could you be holding it too high.

If you can ring your phone with it flat on a desk/table, answer, and then during the call move your hand within an inch or more of the sensor and it should go black, move it away, back etc.

Some non carrier phones have service codes to test sensors, Samsung's at least.
