Any way of searching for an installed app on Android lollipop nexus 6?

I hate having to find icons they are all disorganised and I can't be bothered remember where everything is I just want to be able to search for met and hit the met office weather application for example.

Use the Google Search bar or Google Now. You can set it to search not only the web, but also the phone. Open Google Now, swipe in from the left, tap Settings, then Phone Search. Check the Apps box. Now when you type in a search term in the Google Search bar, you'll also see apps on your phone show up.

Google Gesture Search is another nifty app that allows you to simply draw a letter on the whole screen, and it will start searching based on what character you draw.

B. Diddy. You are the shnizle at knowing stuff. If you lived near my house I would make you a nespresso with my new nespresso machine that I keep bragging to everyone about.

For some reason it won't find some apps and I have to u install them and reinstall them for it to find them in the search. That was the reason really for my original question because it all seemed a bit hit and miss. That Google gesture search is the best app ever. Wish you should just write on your home screen though.
