Why won't my Samsung Galaxy S3 tablet suddenly switch on?

[AC Question]

my samsung galaxy s3 tablet suddenly wont switch on

If i put it to charge it shows a pic of a battery in the centre of the screen but thats all. No matter how long it charges it still will not switch on.
I can see that lots of people having trouble with dead galaxys but they seem to be phones and the symptoms seem to vary also.
Does anyone have any advice on my particular fault please?

Welcome to Android Central! To clarify, this is a tablet? The S3 is a phone. Is this a Tab 3 or Note 3?

It could be the battery, the charge port, the cable, or the wall plug. The main things you can change are the cable and the plug, so try different ones.
