Help with MMS problem? (Xperia Z3v)

AC Question

I'm part of a group chat that's gotten large enough that it makes my messaging app start to lag whenever it tries to load new messages. I tried deleting the group chat from the messaging screen, but it causes the app to freeze and eventually crash and I have to restart my phone to open it again. Is there any other way to delete that chat specifically? If I have to clear out all my messages to get rid of it I will, but I'm hoping I won't have to. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Messaging, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now open it again, and see if the conversation is still there. I've wondered if this will erase all of your saved text messages, but I think there's a separate file in a system folder that actually stores them. But doing the Clear Cache/Clear Data might allow you to actually delete that conversation from within the app.
