I occasionally talk to friends through the Google Hangouts app on my Galaxy s5. I noticed now that when I send someone pics on Google hangouts those pics later appear in my Picasa album in my Gallery on my phone. 1) How do I stop this and most importantly 2) does this mean others can see the photos in my picasa album?!

Welcome to Android Central! That's how Hangouts sends photos and videos--it uploads the media to your Google+ Photos (which is the same as Picasa), and then shares it privately from the cloud to the person or persons in that Hangout. In Google+ Photos, they're visible only to you and to the people in that Hangout.
