Why does my Asus Zenfone screen turn on after locking it?

Problem with Asus Zenfone Screen

My zenfone 5 a501cg screen turns on for about 3 times after i lock it after being connected to a charger. This occurs 30% of the time. Can someone provide a solution. my phone runs android KK 4.4.2 with build 2.20.40.9 please help a noob in need

Welcome to Android Central! So it turns on, then turns off, then turns on again, and does this 3 times? Or do you mean it turns on for about 3 seconds or 3 minutes after placing it on a charger?

even my phone(asus zenfone 5 T00J) does the same . and its not the screen turning on 3 times. The problem is that the screen turns on automatically(not only when charging). other times also.

My phone keeps switching to the screen that shows the time weather and flash ... how do I turn this off it is so difficult... is not the lock screen I am talking about
