How do I clear the HTC One (M8) HtcDm App from my notification list?

HTC One (M8) "HtcDm" App refuses to clear from notification list

Recently my HTC One (M8) has developed a "Device Management" app refusing to finish its use and stays in my notification list.... App is "HtcDm" Any idea why?

My Android version is still 4.4.2... So its not the new update problem. I have tried the normal reset and it returns shortly after. As a last resort I can do a back-up and full reset, but I would like to avoid this.

Do you mean that you are being notified of a new app, and are invited to download it? It sounds like a useful app to me, but presumably you have a good reason for declining it. Or is it an update to an existing app?
Normally, notifications can be swiped away.
