Why does gmail account need permission to access pretty much everything on you're phone? Why does it say they can without owner of phone's permission to do what ever they like for examples: read email attachments, read contacts. Download files without notification, use accounts on device ,full network access, read calendar events,& confidential information ,can add or modify caleder events & send emails to guest with out host knowledge?????????? Modify or delete contents of you're USB storage, add or remove accounts ? etc.
Do you have to have gmail account to have facebook???

Regarding your last question, I'd say that to use Facebook on an Android device, you need a Google account, if that's what you mean.
