Why isn't my phone charging?

Every time I turn my phone on it says "USB Connected" even when it isn't connected and now my Note 3 won't take a charge. Does anyone have a solution for me? Thank you.

Check the charging port very carefully with a strong light and a magnifying glass. That usually happens when there's dirt shorting the connector. If not, it's an internal short and has to go to the shop for repair.
