Why did my Samsung GALAXY note 8 just stop?

My note 8 was working fine, I thought it had plenty of charge when I went to bed. When I woke up it was dead. I put it on the charger and nothing happened, not even a charge light. I can't get it to do anything. I used it just before I went to sleep. It's been working as normal.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

It sounds like complete battery failure. Better get it tested.
