re: emails, is there a way to delete all or in bulk, rather than checking one at a time to delete?

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

You can't delete all on the Gmail app, only on the web view, though you can delete multiple on the app by holding one until the top bar turns grey and a trash icon appears.

If the Samsung email app, you can delete all with Menu - Delete All, or delete by week or month with convenient check boxes.

In Gmail, keep tapping the icon next to each email (the one containing either the picture or the initials of the sender), once you've selected the emails you want to delete, tap the trash can icon in the upper part of the app.

Yes. You're right for most devices I guess. On my Samsung Note 3 it appears differently, but I just checked on my Moto G and it's as you say.
I rarely use Gmail.

I think the OP may be aware and just wanted to have a delete all option, or by the hundreds possibly.

Must be something with the Note 3 then, my Note 10.1 (2014) tablet has the same capability as my Moto X.
